With the Conference Final matches all bracketed after Houston’s dramatic comeback from down three-games-to-one, Las Vegas has released the odds-makers favorite teams to advance to the NBA Finals, and ultimately, the NBA champion.
The Golden State Warriors have emerged as the odds-on favorite to win the NBA title.
Vegas has the Warriors currently ranked as a minus-1,100 favorite to eliminate the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Finals, which begin Tuesday at Oracle Arena. The Rockets currently sit at a plus-700 to pull off the upset.
As far as game 1 goes, the Warriors are 10-point favorites. Fans all over have been speculating as to just how long this series will last, as the Warriors swept the regular season series, 4-0. But as we know, the playoffs are a new season, and the Rockets are coming off the aforementioned game 7 victory against the Clippers to take a series they were one game away from elimination in. This will be the Warriors first trip to the conference finals since 1976, and the Rockets first trip since 1997.
Series Prediction: Warriors in 5
When LeBron agreed to return home to his Cavaliers, Cleveland became an instant favorite to win that title that’s been haunting the franchise for eternity. Factor in the additions of Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, and it looked like we were going to get a taste of the Cavaliers of yore. The Cav’s are of course playing without Love now, and the team is making its return to the conference finals with LeBron making his fifth consecutive trip to face-off against the Atlanta Hawks.
The Cavaliers are a minus-210 favorite to win the series over the Hawks, who carry the home-court advantage. However, the Hawks are a 1-point favorite in game 1, which tips-off on Wednesday.
Series Prediction: Cavaliers in 6
