There’s still no official timetable for Sean Doolittle, as the All-Star closer works his way back from a shoulder injury.
“Don’t know until he gets on the mound yet,” said manager Bob Melvin on Sunday morning before the Oakland Athletics took on the Seattle Mariners. “I think we’re getting close as far as that goes.”
Melvin did offer a hint for when Doolittle’s return to the mound could happen.
“He’s not going to go on the road trip. So, maybe soon there after.”
However, the skipper cautioned that he doesn’t want to look too far out into the future.
“I hate to get ahead of myself because every once in a while you have some setbacks if he’s sore one day or something like that.”
